Trinity Trash Bash!

The annual Trinity River Trash Bash was conducted on Saturday, September 21.  4-H members from Straight Shooters 4-H, East Fort Worth 4-H, Poly High School 4-H,  Saginaw 4-H, Vets of Tomorrow, and Voyage 4-H participated in the cleanup.  It is amazing what a community can do when everybody works together.  This year’s event was a remarkable success with more than 3,600 community volunteers and trash collection totals exceeding 11 tons.

Following the cleanup, 4-H Ambassadors hosted 4-H information booths at the celebration event at Panther Pavilion.

The Time of Our Lives - Spring Fling!!!

What do the Cha Cha Slide, Delicious Desserts, and Crazy Costumes have in common?
The Spring Fling, of course!
Friday, April 26th, 2013 (AKA Tomorrow) at the County Extension Office and up on the 5th floor, there will be a room full of fun!
With fun dances like the Hokey Pokey and the Chicken Dance, a delicious Desserts competition, a fun costume contest, Minute to Win It games, Yummy food, and even some board games for those who don't want to dance, I'm betting everyone there will have the Time of Their Lives!!!

*Since I listed all that fast, let me break it down*
Tons of fun dancing!  (And don't worry if you don't know how to dance (I don't!)...you'll catch on in no time)
A Desserts competition (Bring a Dessert, if you want! Not required, but recommended!)
A Costume contest (Again, not required, but recommended! (Costumes can be anything appropriate - there is no theme))
Minute to Win It Games
A potluck (PLEASE BRING FOOD OR WE WILL NOT EAT. (And I really want to eat))
Board Games

The night will begin at 7:00 (Set-up begins at 5:30, and everyone is welcome to come help!!!) and ends at 9:30 (Clean-up ends at 10:00, and again, please help!!!).
I hope to see everyone there!

Educational Presentations

Where could a person spend an evening learning about bass fishing, goat halters, theatrical stage management, quilting, silhouetting, equine genetics, slippery slopes, and more????

4-H Educational Presentations Night, of course.

Last week, 27 youth demonstrated their public speaking skills as they educated the audience with their presentations.   GREAT JOB !!!

Beekeeping!

McCrae was abuzz with excitement when she was notified that she was a recipient of the MetroBeekeepers Association Scholarship Program.

The program provides all the equipment necessary for the recipient to become a hobbyist beekeeper. She received an orientation and a beekeeping suit. She will have her own hive to learn from and take care of during the process.

She will join past recipients, Kendall Lisle and Sam Babler as they pursue their interests in beekeeping.  Congrats, McCrae!
